Developed by the Small Arms Factory, this medium machine gun has managed to gain popularity among several countries due to its features. The latest machine serves as an effective weapon in ground warfare.

In face-to-face combat among soldiers, this medium machine gun (MMG) could prove to be a game-changer as it has the ability to fire 1,000 bullets per minute.

Here are some of the key features of the weapon:

• The gun weights 11-kilogram and can fire 1,000 rounds per minute.
• It can eliminate enemies up to 1.8 kilometers, or 1,800 meters, away.
• The small arms factory in Europe has received its largest order to date.
• An agreement was signed with a European country in December 2023, and now the production of weapons has ramped up.
• The MAG features a barrel as well.
• The weight of the barrel is 3 kilograms.
• The length of this machine gun is 1255 mm.
• It is capable of accurately targeting enemies standing at a distance of 1800 to 2000 meters.
• The caliber of this gun is 7.62 x 51 mm. Therefore, it is becoming the preferred choice of many armies.

MMGs Get Massive Order

This year, the order for this machine gun has crossed Rs 225 crores. To recall, last year, a Rs 190 crore order was placed with the Small Arms Factory. According to the reports, several European countries are showing their keen interest in supplying this gun to their soldiers.

Discussions are on with the Small Arms Factory in this regard. After completing the order for 2000 MMGs, the factory will begin fulfilling orders for other agreements as well.
