Divyanka Tripathi And Vivek Dahiya were robbed in Florence
Divyanka Tripathi and Vivek Dahiya travelled to Europe for their anniversary trip in July this year. However, what was supposed to be romantic holiday soon turned horrific when the couple got stuck in Florence after they were robbed of their passports and money. They had to stay in a hotel without any cash and urgently seek Indian embassy’s intervention.
Now, in an exclusive interview with Times Now/ Telly Talk India, Vivek Dahiya explains in detail what exactly happened there.
Vivek Dahiya tells us, “We were travelling for our 8 year marriage anniversary. We had been planning this for a long time now. Divyanka planned the trip and wanted to keep a surprise on what we would be doing there. She had booked us into a hotel and said that we’d experience something special there. We checked out from our previous hotel and took a road trip for the next hotel. We were in our car the entire time. We had hired the car from Switzerland and we were going to a small village near Florence. I had a bag in which both our passports were there, some cash and our wallets too. It was all inside the car. We told the staff that we’d check in later since our stuff was in our vehicle but they told us to leave the stuff and just relax. When we came out later, we saw that the glass of our car was broken even though it was parked on private property. The thieves took all our stuff. The hotel staff apologised to us and we asked for the CCTV footage but they didn’t have it. They should have told us this before but they didn’t.”

The actor adds, “Long story short, we contacted the Embassy. We were sad that we had lost all our best stuff since four of our bags were stolen. But more than that, we wanted to recover our passports. The Embassy was very cooperative. They called us to Rome the next day to pick our new passports. They also issued an emergency certificate for us through which we returned home to India. Kitne ka nuksan hua yeh humne calculate nahi kiya aur hum karna bhi nahi chahte.”
Vivek concludes, “But we’ve recovered now, it’s fine. When we returned, we told everyone that Europe is very unsafe. In Poland, you get targetted from the airport itself. Sometimes you even get assaulted. Police station 6 baje band ho jaata hai.”
