MUNICH (Germany) – 15 teams from the Basketball Champions League Qualifiers will compete in the FIBA Europe Cup Regular Season for the 2024-25 edition.
The following teams opted into the competition with their places now confirmed:
Banco di Sardegna Sassari (ITA), BC Kalev/ Cramo (EST), BC Sabah (AZE), BC Trepca (KOS), Caledonia Gladiators (GBR), Cholet Basket (FRA), CSM CSU Oradea (ROU), Fribourg Olympic (SUI), Keravnos BC (CYP), Kutaisi 2010 (GEO), Norrkoping Dolphins (SWE), PAOK (GRE), Patrioti Levice (SVK), Rilski Sportist (BUL) and Windrose Giants Antwerp (BEL).
Those clubs – including 2023 runners-up Cholet – feed into their pre-determined groups in the Regular Season with the draw having taken place in July.
Meanwhile, the seven winners of the FIBA Europe Cup Qualifiers pairings will now be joined by three additional ‘lucky losers’ – to be determined by the best-ranked losing teams, in accordance to Section D of the Official Basketball Rules.
The spots – in Groups D, G and J – were opened up after SL Benfica, Aliaga Petkimspor and Telekom Baskets Bonn all progressed to the Regular Season of the Basketball Champions League.
The FIBA Europe Cup Qualifiers commence on Tuesday, September 24 with the full 40-team lineup for the Regular Season to be finalized on Friday, September 27.
