While Malaga topped the rankings, Spain did well overall with six other Spanish cities also making the top 10.
Malaga is a coastal city in Southern Spain and has a total of 280 hours of sunshine a month. That is a hell of a lot of sunshine especially when you compare it to the miserable grey weather we have outside in the UK right now.
Let’s not forget that the average temperature in Malaga is 18.8 degrees.
Spanish cities Alicante and Murcia came in second and third place despite having slightly lower average temperatures of 18.5 and 18.4 degrees.
While many of us think of it as a place to go and party or for stag and hen do there is plenty of history to go and see.

There are plenty of things you can visit for free in Malaga too.
Parque de Malaga, which is a small park and the Mercado Central de Atarazanas, an indoor market which sells tapas and fresh produce.
There are also 12 beaches you can choose from in the city where you can soak up some rays before taking a dip in the Mediterranean Sea. These include Calahonda Beach, Burriana, Bajondillo Beach, and Torremolinos which is a lovely family-friendly beach.
Budget hotels in Malaga start from £66 per night, while hotels in the five-star cost on average of £200 per night.
But if you plan to go during the peak summer months such as June, July and August then of course prices for flights and hotels will be more expensive.
If you’re thinking about eating out then a meal will cost about £10 per person at a lower-end restaurant.
However, if you’re looking for a three-course meal at a mid-range restaurant will cost you about £42 per person.
Meanwhile, for drinks, a beer will set you back £2.40.
