MUNICH (Germany) – The 2023 edition of the FIBA Europe U14 Get-Together took place in Estoril, Portugal on October 27-29.
The traditional event – which focuses on the development of the next generation as part of FIBA’s key objectives – welcomed over 100 coaches from Portugal as well as international delegates from 33 different countries.
There were also 28 international female coaches in attendance to strengthen another of FIBA’s strategic priorities of Women in Basketball.
FIBA Executive Director Europe Kamil Novak was in attendance as a number of sessions took place across the weekend.
There were interactive clinics from Orange Lions Academy Head Coach Molly McDowell with a focus on 1v1 fundamentals and drills as well building a half-court defense from 1v1 to 5v5.
Meanwhile, FPB National Technical Director Nuno Manaia discussed the Portuguese talent development system from mini-basketball all the way to the senior level, and strength and conditioning expert Alejandro Vaquera presented on the topic of basketball training with young players.
The event was previously held in Durres, Albania when it made a successful return in 2022.
