Former Turkish Airlines EuroLeague champion, Guerschon Yabusele explained how teams from the premier club continental competition of Europe can rival teams in the NBA.
Yabusele, 28, started his second NBA spell with ten points, four rebounds, and three steals over 26 minutes in a losing effort against the Milwaukee Bucks in Wells Fargo Center on Wednesday. He previously logged 90 appearances with the Boston Celtics, between the 2017-18 and 2018-19 campaigns.
“It is too early to say because I have only played one game, but I always say that some of the best EuroLeague teams can compete with some NBA teams, for sure,” he mentioned after his first official game with the Sixers, “I am not saying the best teams [in the NBA].”
“’They are two different leagues,” continued the French forward, “Being able to play for Real Madrid for three years and competing in those arenas against other teams and players, I gained a lot of experience. And feeling how it is on the court playing against tough teams helped a lot.”
He also went into the senior national team of France.
“I do not see anyone who cannot make it to the league,” he reaffirmed his view about his international teammates being able to play in the NBA, “Everyone on our team can do something in the league.”
On the first edition of NBA Saturdays in the 2024-25 Regular Season, the 76ers resume action facing the Toronto Raptors in Scotiabank Arena.
