A 23-year-old dealer employed by The Star casino in Sydney and a 22-year-old man have been charged with allegedly rigging multiple games of roulette last year, earning more than $25,000 in the process.
According to NSW Police, the pair allegedly worked together over September and October 2023 to rig roulette bets.
The two men, who were investigated by NSW detectives attached to Strike Force Antree, are said to have moved the location of a bet on the roulette table after the game had been completed.
Strike Force Antree was created in October 2023 to investigate corrupt and illegal conduct in NSW casinos.
According to NSW Police, the two men moved these bets on roulette games on multiple occasions, pocketing more than $25,000.
The ABC understands The Star Sydney was the first to identify and notify NSW Police of the alleged rigging.
Both men have been charged with facilitating conduct that corrupts a betting outcome and to benefit in a casino by dishonest means.
The pair are expected to appear before Downing Centre Local Court on 1 November.
