MUNICH (Germany) – The groups for the Second Round of the 2024-25 FIBA Europe Cup season have now been confirmed, following the conclusion of the Regular Season, on Wednesday.
Banco di Sardegna Sassari, BC Kalev/Cramo, Bilbao Basket, Casademont Zaragoza, Cholet Basket, CSM CSU Oradea, FC Porto, MHP RIESEN Ludwigsburg, Spirou Basket and Tofas Bursa all secured their places in the next phase as the 10 group winners.
Meanwhile, Anwil Wloclawek, ESSM Le Portel, Fribourg Olympic, JDA Bourgogne Dijon, Maroussi BC and PAOK mateco were all confirmed as the six best-ranked runners-up in accordance to Section D of the Official Basketball Rules – full rankings can be found, here.
The Second Round groups are as follows:
Group K: Tofas Bursa (TUR), Casademont Zaragoza (ESP), FC Porto (POR), Maroussi BC (GRE)
Group L: Cholet Basket (FRA), Banco di Sardegna Sassari (ITA), Bilbao Basket (ESP), ESSM Le Portel (FRA)
Group M: CSM CSU Oradea (ROU), BC Kalev/Cramo (EST), PAOK mateco (GRE), JDA Bourgogne Dijon (FRA)
Group N: Spirou Basket (BEL), MHP RIESEN Ludwigsburg (GER), Anwil Wloclawek (POL), Fribourg Olympic (SUI)
There are 12 different nationalities represented in the remaining field, which also contains two former champions in Sassari (2019) and Anwil (2023) as well as five debutants.
The Second Round action will commence in December, with the top two teams in each of the four groups advancing to the Quarter-Finals of the competition.
