The fund selection team at Swedish giant SEB covers €10bn of assets and has been twice celebrated by this publication recently with its head, Mikael Haglund, appearing in last year’s Top 100 and selector Sebastian Siemiatkowski, named in the 2022 class of our 40 under 40 list. 

Since both appeared, the Stockholm-based business has restructured its selection operation. Product development, manager selection, partnership management and distribution management were moved out of the global product strategy team and into the private wealth management and family office operation.

Siemiatkowski (pictured), was one of those who moved to the private wealth section, covering mainly liquid products for private wealth and retail clients as well as the life and pensions market. He took over the coverage for all emerging markets – equities and fixed income – and also Japan.
