Throughout the season, Manchester United and Celtic legend Brian McClair will be giving his predictions for every Premier League game.
In four seasons at Celtic, McClair made 471 appearances in all competitions and scored 127 goals, securing the Scottish Premier League and Scottish FA Cup while finishing as top-scorer for the Hoops on four occasions.
His prolific goalscoring record quickly attracted the attention of clubs south of the border and in 1987, McClair became Alex Ferguson’s first signing at Manchester United, going on to win four Premier League titles, two FA Cups and the European Cup Winners’ Cup in his 11 years at Old Trafford.
Brian joins The Panel for the 2024/25 Premier League season and will pass expert judgement with his score predictions on all games whilst The Panel team will examine the best football betting sites to find the best odds should his predictions hit the back of the net.
Watch him discuss the games below and keep an eye on how Brian and The Panel get on each week throughout the season.
Everton face Liverpool on Saturday lunchtime in an emotional Merseyside derby, the final to be played at Goodison Park before the Toffees move to Bramley-Moore Dock next season.
Sean Dyche’s team, battling relegation once again, boosted confidence going into Saturday’s encounter with a 4-0 win over Wolves midweek.
Liverpool still top the Premier League table, but their 3-3 draw with Newcastle on Wednesday means their lead is now seven points over Arsenal and Chelsea.
Brian says: “You’d like to hope that this is the last Merseyside derby at Goodison Park, but you can never tell until they actually move out with the situation and turmoil that Everton have been in over the last couple of years.
“In this fixture last season Liverpool had 76% of possession but still contrived to lose the game 2-0 in a defeat that dented their title hopes.
“This is a game that the blue half of the city look forward to particularly and they will want to do something special in this final game, but I can’t see past an away victory.”
Brian McClair’s Panel Pick 1: Everton 1-2 Liverpool – 13/2 with Betovo
Manchester United are looking to get back to winning ways when they host Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford on Saturday.
Ruben Amorim was dealt a first defeat in charge of the club on Wednesday, with his side losing 2-0 at Arsenal.
Forest, meanwhile, have stalled somewhat following an impressive start to the season and were beaten 3-0 at Manchester City on Wednesday.
Brian says: “Last season Forest went 2-0 up within five minutes before eventually losing 3-2 and I expect something similar this time around.
“I think United will dominate possession and eventually win the game, but they won’t have it all their own way.
“Saturday evening games are not ideal for football in my opinion but if it’s anything like the last time Forest came to Old Trafford, it will be entertaining and another home win.”
