AC Milan are interested in signing Levski Sofia talent Marin Petkov, according to a report, but they face some competition.
According to what is being reported by TMW, Milan are ‘pushing for one of the 30 top talents in Europe’ currently, which says a lot about how highly rated he is.
The Bulgarian attacking midfielder has been in ridiculous form since breaking into the first team at Levski Sofia with 150 games, 40 goals and 20 assists to his name.
In addition to that he has 12 appearances and two goals for the Bulgarian senior national team despite being just 21 years of age. The Rossoneri are evaluating the best operation to steal him from the European competition.
Petkov plays mainly as a winger and attacking midfielder for Levski Sofia but he has even been used as a wing-back and centre-forward before too, showing his versatility.
Given that Christian Pulisic has been used more as a playmaker this season behind the striker, it could well be a sign that Paulo Fonseca intends to stick with the 4-2-3-1 system and sign a deputy for the American.
What must also be noted are the rumours about Mattia Liberali potentially leaving. Even though he is just 16, he is concerned about his pathway to the first team after an impressive preseason.
